Day 1: Arusha to Tarangire National Park Safari
After breakfast, you will be picked up from your hotel in Arusha at 9:00 AM and driven to Tarangire National Park, Tanzania’s third-largest park and a sanctuary for one of the largest elephant populations in Africa. Famous for its majestic baobab trees and diverse wildlife, Tarangire offers spectacular game viewing as animals gather around the Tarangire River, the park’s only permanent water source. Expect to see lions, leopards, cheetahs, and up to six thousand elephants in their natural habitat. Enjoy a scenic game drive with a picnic lunch before checking in at your lodge for dinner and overnight stay.
Day 2: Ngorongoro Crater to Serengeti National Park
After an early breakfast, depart at 7:00 AM with picnic lunch boxes for a thrilling visit to the Ngorongoro Crater, famously known as the “Eighth Wonder of the World.” Descend approximately 2,000 feet (600 meters) to the crater floor for a half-day safari tour, exploring the lush forest areas where monkeys and elephants roam, the crater lake home to flamingos, and the open savannah where lions hunt. Enjoy lunch at a scenic picnic site overlooking marshes filled with hippos and birds.
In the afternoon, continue your journey to the world-renowned Serengeti National Park, enjoying a game drive along the way. Check into your lodge for dinner and overnight stay, surrounded by the breathtaking landscapes and abundant wildlife of the Serengeti.
Day 3: Game Safari in Serengeti National Park
After breakfast, you will travel via the cooler highlands towards the southern Serengeti and at midday you will reach the plains of the Serengeti National Park. This park is the largest in Tanzania and has a diversity of habitats and landscapes – short grass plains, savannah, thick bush, swamps and lakes. Bizarre rock formations called kopjes dot the grassy landscape where predators are often seen. The Serengeti is famous for the yearly migration when hundreds of thousands of wildebeests and zebras trek to find fresh grass and water. You will spend the night at the Serengeti Heritage Tented Camp inside of the park.
Day 4: Full-Day Game Safari in Serengeti National Park
Spend the entire day on an unforgettable game viewing adventure in Serengeti National Park, home to Africa’s iconic wildlife. Your safari route will follow the movements of the migrating wildebeest and zebra herds, as predators like lions, leopards (often perched in acacia trees), and cheetahs trail closely behind.
The migration patterns vary with the seasons: during the short rains (November–December), herds move from northern hills to the southern plains, while during the long rains (April–June), they return north. Your experienced guide will ensure you find the best locations for wildlife sightings regardless of the year’s rainfall.
Return to your lodge in the evening for dinner and overnight stay, surrounded by the stunning landscapes and rich biodiversity of the Serengeti.
Day 5: Drive to Masai Mara in Kenya
After breakfast you will start driving towards Isebania border where you will have a paper work and proceed to Maasai Mara. The road towards the Kenyan border is long and adventurous one, but it should be worth it as the “Mara” is reputed to have the highest lion population of all reserves in Africa. Other large cats also live here and can be spotted all year round, as their sightings are not dependent upon the seasons or the great migration. Arrive, Dinner and overnight
Day 6: Full-Day Game Safari in Masai Mara National Reserve
Spend a full day exploring the Masai Mara National Reserve, renowned for having the highest concentration of wildlife per square kilometer in East Africa. Your safari includes unlimited game drives, offering ample opportunities to spot iconic African animals such as lions, elephants, cheetahs, buffaloes, antelopes, hyenas, and warthogs.
Optional activities include a hot air balloon safari, providing a breathtaking aerial view of the rolling savannah and the vast wildlife below. Carry a picnic lunch and spend the day immersed in the beauty and diversity of the Mara ecosystem, capturing unforgettable wildlife encounters and scenic landscapes.
Return to your lodge in the evening for dinner and overnight stay, resting amidst the serene wilderness.
Day 7: Drive from Masai Mara to Lake Nakuru
Early morning game drive will be provided and after return back to the lodge for breakfast. After breakfast, leave Maasai Mara (game en route) for Lake Naivasha arriving in the evening search of lions, Leopard, buffalo, antelopes, amongst many others not forgetting the famous white Rhino and black rhino found in this park. Dinner and overnight at lodge.
Day 8: Game Safari at Lake Nakuru and Drive to Lake Naivasha
After breakfast, embark on a morning game drive in Lake Nakuru National Park, famous for its stunning flocks of flamingos and diverse birdlife. The park is also a sanctuary for the endangered white rhino, and wildlife enthusiasts can spot Cape buffalo, waterbucks, and other savannah animals along the shoreline.
Enjoy a hot lunch before driving to Lake Naivasha, one of East Africa’s most picturesque freshwater lakes. Here, you have the option (at an additional cost) to take a boat ride to see hippos, fish eagles, and other aquatic wildlife, offering incredible photo opportunities.
Return to your lodge for dinner and overnight stay, surrounded by the serene lake landscape.
Day 9: Depart Lake Naivasha and Return to Nairobi – End of Safari
After breakfast, enjoy a final morning game drive around Lake Naivasha, soaking in the scenic beauty and spotting wildlife one last time. Around 10:30 AM, depart for Nairobi, arriving at your accommodation in the city.
