Day 1: Transfer to Mgahinga National Park

Morning:
Your driver-guide will pick you up early in the morning (around 6:00 AM) from your hotel in Kisoro, Kabale and drive to Mgahinga Gorilla National Park or Bwindi Forest headquarters. Upon arrival, you’ll attend a briefing from Uganda Wildlife Authority rangers about gorilla trekking rules and safety guidelines.

Gorilla Trekking Experience
You’ll then begin your trek through the misty forest in search of a Gorilla Family. The trek can take between 2 to 5 hours, depending on the gorillas’ movements. Once found, you’ll spend one unforgettable hour observing and photographing these gentle giants as they play, feed, and interact.

Afternoon: Return to Kisoro, Kabale or Kigali
After the trek, return to the park offices for your gorilla trekking certificate and drive back to Kisoro town, arriving in the afternoon — marking the end of your incredible 1-day gorilla adventure.

Best Time to Visit
Dry seasons (June–September & December–February) are best for trekking, but safaris run year-round.
