This 7-day journey is a compact epic: rainforest primates, rare gorilla encounters, tree-climbing lions, lakeside moments and sweeping savannahs. You’ll move from the misty green of Kibale Forest (home to lively chimpanzees) through the wildlife mosaics of Queen Elizabeth National Park (including the dramatic Ishasha sector), into the living cathedral of Bwindi Impenetrable Forest for gorilla tracking, and finish with calm water and plains at Lake Mburo. Expect dawn game drives, forest hushes, and evenings spent beneath a huge African sky.

Day 1: Arrival in Entebbe

Arrive at Entebbe International Airport, meet your driver-guide, and transfer to your hotel. Relax and recover from your journey as you prepare for the adventure ahead.

Day 2: Drive to Kibale Forest National Park

After breakfast, depart for Fort Portal, traveling through scenic landscapes and lush tea plantations. Arrive at Kibale Forest, check into your lodge, and enjoy dinner surrounded by the tranquil rainforest.

Day 3: Chimpanzee Trekking & Bigodi Swamp Walk

Begin the day with an exciting chimpanzee tracking experience in Kibale Forest. Watch these playful primates in their natural habitat. After lunch, explore the Bigodi Wetland Sanctuary on a guided walk to spot birds, monkeys, and other small forest wildlife.

Day 4: Transfer to Bwindi via Ishasha

Set off early for Bwindi Impenetrable Forest. En route, pass through Queen Elizabeth National Park’s Ishasha sector, famous for its tree-climbing lions. Enjoy a scenic picnic lunch before continuing to your lodge deep in the rainforest.

Day 5: Gorilla Trekking in Bwindi

After breakfast and a briefing by park rangers, embark on the unforgettable mountain gorilla trekking experience. Spend an hour observing these gentle giants, then return to your lodge to relax or take an optional community visit in the evening.

Day 6: Travel to Lake Mburo National Park

After breakfast, journey to Lake Mburo National Park. Arrive in time for a boat cruise on Lake Mburo, spotting hippos, crocodiles, and waterbirds. Stop at the Igongo Cultural Centre for lunch and a glimpse into Ankole traditions. Optional night game drive available.

Day 7: Game Drive & Return to Entebbe

Begin your final day with a morning bush walk or game drive, spotting zebras, impalas, and elands. Return to the lodge for breakfast, then drive back to Entebbe, stopping at the Equator for photos and souvenirs before your evening flight.

Travel in a 4×4 safari vehicle with pop-up roof, guided by an English-speaking professional driver.

Trekking Notes

Gorilla & chimpanzee permits included (UWA-issued).
Treks last 2–6 hours, depending on primate location.
Fitness level: moderate, with some uphill forest trekking.

Best Time to Visit
Dry seasons (June–September & December–February) are best for trekking, but safaris run year-round.

What to Pack
Hiking boots, rain jacket, long trousers, insect repellent, gloves, and a reusable water bottle.
