This 3-day Uganda wildlife safari takes you to Murchison Falls National Park, the country’s largest and oldest park, home to the Big Five and an abundance of wildlife. Enjoy thrilling game drives, a boat cruise along the Victoria Nile, and a visit to the famous Murchison Falls where the Nile squeezes through a narrow gorge before plunging into the valley.

Day 1: Kampala → Murchison Falls National Park

YDepart Kampala in the morning, stopping at Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary for rhino tracking. Continue to Masindi for lunch, then drive into Murchison Falls National Park. Visit the Top of the Falls for spectacular views before heading to your lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 2: Game Drive & Nile Boat Cruise

Take an early morning game drive across the northern savannah in search of lions, elephants, giraffes, buffaloes, antelopes, and possibly leopards. In the afternoon, enjoy a boat cruise along the Victoria Nile to the base of Murchison Falls. Spot hippos, crocodiles, and water birds, then return for dinner and overnight.

Day 3: Murchison Falls → Kampala/Entebbe

After breakfast, enjoy a short game drive or optional visit to Budongo Forest for chimpanzee tracking (time permitting). Begin the return journey with a lunch stop along the way, arriving in Kampala or Entebbe in the evening.

Travel in a 4×4 safari vehicle with pop-up roof, guided by an English-speaking professional driver.

Trekking Notes

Gorilla & chimpanzee permits included (UWA-issued).
Treks last 2–6 hours, depending on primate location.
Fitness level: moderate, with some uphill forest trekking.

Best Time to Visit
Dry seasons (June–September & December–February) are best for trekking, but safaris run year-round.

What to Pack
Hiking boots, rain jacket, long trousers, insect repellent, gloves, and a reusable water bottle.
