Day 1: Kampala → Kibale Forest National Park

Depart Kampala after breakfast for a scenic drive to Kibale. En route, pass tea plantations, crater lakes, and rolling hills. Check into your lodge near the park. Overnight stay in Kibale.

Day 2: Chimpanzee Trekking in Kibale

Start the day with a guided trek in Kibale Forest, home to over 1,500 chimpanzees. Spend time observing them as they feed, play, and interact. Look out for other primates like colobus monkeys and olive baboons. Afternoon relaxation at your lodge.

Day 3: Kibale → Bwindi Impenetrable Forest

After breakfast, travel south through the beautiful countryside to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park. Arrive in the late afternoon, check into your lodge, and prepare for the gorilla adventure.

Day 4: Gorilla Trekking in Bwindi

After a briefing at park headquarters, embark on your once-in-a-lifetime gorilla trekking experience. Hike through the rainforest with expert rangers until you find a gorilla family. Spend one magical hour watching them in their natural habitat. Return to your lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 5: Bwindi → Kampala

Enjoy breakfast before beginning the return journey. Stop at the Equator crossing for photos and craft shopping. Arrive in Kampala or Entebbe in the evening, marking the end of your safari.

Travel in a 4×4 safari vehicle with pop-up roof, guided by an English-speaking professional driver.

Treks last 2–6 hours, depending on primate location.
Fitness level: moderate, with some uphill forest trekking.

Best Time to Visit
Dry seasons (June–September & December–February) are best for trekking, but safaris run year-round.
